At times, our residents may encounter unforeseen financial difficulties, and we have established the Resident Rent Assistance Program (RRAP) to help alleviate such difficulties whenever possible. From rising fuel costs and food prices to an increased cost of living and other unforeseen circumstances, we understand the challenges many residents face on a daily basis. If you are experiencing difficulties, you can apply to our confidential RRAP through the application form provided below. We are here to assist however we can and are committed to providing quality service in multiple languages.

What is the RRAP program?

The Resident Rent Assistance Program (RRAP) was created to help residents who may be experiencing difficulties meeting their rent obligations due to unexpected financial hardships. Each request is reviewed on a confidential case-by-case basis.

What is the RRAP program?

The Resident Rent Assistance Program (RRAP) was created to help residents who may be experiencing difficulties meeting their rent obligations due to unexpected financial hardships. Each request is reviewed on a confidential case-by-case basis.

How do I know if I’m eligible? Can I apply if I’m employed or have an income source?

Any resident can apply for RRAP, regardless of whether they are employed or have an income source. We will review all applications accordingly and do our best to help!

If I’m approved, what type of assistance can I expect?

When applying for RRAP, you are able to select one of the following three options:
Option 1 – Full or partial guideline rent increase forgiveness.
For example, the 2023 provincial guideline is 2.5%. In this scenario, we may waive the increase amount up to 2.5%.

Option 2 – Full or partial above guideline rent increase forgiveness.
For example, if you are served an above guideline rent increase (i.e., over and above 2.5%), we may waive the increase up to 3%.

Option 3 – A one-time credit on your account, with the dollar amount determined on a case-by-case basis.

I'm not very tech savvy. Can someone help me fill out the application and submit it?

Yes! If you need help filling out and submitting the form, please let us know, and we can arrange for a member of your site team to help.

Is the form available in any language other than English?

Yes! We offer translated copies of the form in a variety of languages including French, Spanish, Arabic, Somali, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Pashto and Tagalog.

Do I have to pay back the provided assistance?

No. You are not required to pay back any of the assistance provided.

I have arrears. Is there help in the form of a Payment Plan?

Yes! We can offer customizable payment plans to help you pay off your arrears. Please let us know if you are interested in this option and a member from our team will reach out to assist.

I’m interested in applying for RRAP. How do I get started?
Simply apply online on this page through the easy-to-follow online application. If you need help filling out the application form, please let us know by emailing info@signetgroup.ca and we can further assist.
When will my rental assistance be effective?

Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If there are any questions or additional information that is required about your application, a representative will be in touch within 48 hours of you submitting it. If all information has been properly submitted, you will receive an email outlining our decision within two weeks of the submission date.
